Safety Products for Cycling
Visibility is one of the most
important elements of cyling safety - you have to make sure
motorists can see you, both day and night. For daytime safety that
means bright colors and eye-catching motion. For nightime safety
that means super-reflective materials and flashing
lights.
Recumbent Cycles of Utah offers products to
accommodate both daytime and nightime cycling safety. These products
include super-reflective, bright yellow flags, safety triangles and
ankle straps.
Safety Flag (includes pole and
bracket) $19.95
The Recumbent Cycles of Utah Flag is made from
bright yellow, heavy-duty, rip-stop materials. The tip of the flag
is sliced into long fingers that act like a windsock without the
wind resistance - they wiggle in the wind and are quite
eye-catching. On both sides of the flag super-reflective material is
stitched so that at night they reflect back light and are visible to
motorists from as far away as 800 feet or more. The flag comes
complete with a two-piece, white fiberglass pole and traditional
flag bracket. Catrike flag brackets are also available.

Flag can also be purchased without the heat-pressed
Recumbent Cycles of Utah message. Purchase them for your cycling
group and heat-press your own message onto the flag. Minimum
quantity for flag (including the two-piece pole and bracket) without
message is 10 for $149.95.
Safety Triangle and Ankle
Strap
Triangle $12.95
Ankle Strap $3.95
The Recumbent Cycles of Utah Safety Triangle and
Ankle Strap are two more excellent safety products. The safety
triangle is made from the same bright yellow material, and has the
traditional open triangle symbol for slow moving vehicles made from
super-reflective material stitched on. At the top of the triangle,
velcro is stitched on for fastening the triangle to seat backs,
racks, bags, etc., providing visibility to motorists. The ankle strap is made from black nylon webbing like what is
used for backpack straps with super-reflective, bright yellow
material stitched on. Fasten them around your ankles to keep pant
legs from getting caught in your chain or sprockets; and at the same
time, increase your visibility to motorists from all
angles.
